This document comes in the description of control methods applied in power converters that are functional in a microgrid. There exist different methodologies that control the behavior of power electronics in networks where there are different elements that inject energy through distributed generation power converters. The interaction between these converters are not trivial and must be analyzed it in detail to avoid any possible problems or anomalies network functionality.

Taking advantage that we have the power converters and those, in the case of DER-IREC are connected by a communication bus, added features can be assigned to consider these converters, which help the overall microgrid as a system isolated or interconnected. This aspect is also studied and analyzed in this paper. Finally we study issues of safety and control such as anti-islanding and protection.
